Dental Problem

Dental problems are the range of diseases that can affect your mouth area, such as teeth, gums and other parts of your mouth.

If left untreated, they cause more serious teeth diseases. That will later affect your everyday activities like chewing, speaking or even laughing. It is good to have knowledge about these dental problems and their causes. Because awareness of these issues is the foundation for a beautiful, bright smile.

Causes of Dental Problems

  • Poor oral hygiene includes not brushing and flossing
  • Genetics or heredity and a history of teeth diseases
  • Smoking or the excessive use of tobacco-related products
  • Do not follow precautions by a dentist for a dental problem
  • Medical conditions affecting the mouth, such as diabetes
  • Eating excessively sugary or acidic food in routine

Tooth extraction is needed for reasons like

  1. Severe decay,
  2. Trauma,
  3. Infection,
  4. Overcrowding, or
  5. Impacted wisdom teeth.

A simple extraction typically takes 20-40 minutes,

while a surgical extraction might take longer depending on complexity.

Dry socket is a painful condition where the blood clot at the extraction site dislodges.

Avoid smoking, drinking through a straw, or vigorous rinsing to prevent it.

You should stick to soft foods for the first 24 hours. Gradually reintroduce solid foods based on your dentist’s advice.

Depending on the condition, root canal treatment, fillings, or crowns may be considered as alternatives to extraction.
